The picture I have posted is what I get to see everyday. I took a few minutes this evening, from prepping for the upcoming weekend, to go down to the dock and watch the sunset. I was alone, sitting on the dock of the bay, wasting time with my camera. The sun was a huge ball of orange, the waters were calm, the small wakes were slapping against the dock. I sat there for maybe all of 7 minutes watching the sun set over the horizon. I felt a sense of peace come over me as the sky brightened to orange and pink. All I kept thinking was how fortunate I am to be in this place at this time. However tired I am, however much work I have left to do, I am going to walk to the bay or the ocean and take a few minutes out of each day to thank God for sharing all this with me. I cant wait until you all come over and spend some of this time with me.

Overtime at the Beach
You would think by the title of this post I have gotten quite tan, but this week that isnt the case. You see Memorial day weekend is opening weekend on Fire Island. The ferry must be standing room only, the streets are bustling with people carrying suitcases and pulling wagons ( Little Red flyer wagons are the carry on suitcase around here ), and vintage bicycles ( Phat Cycles ) are being ridden by cool people spending their summer at the beach. I have put in over 115 hours this week so far, not including today and tommorow. Whewwwwwwwww ! I am exhausted. Should be a nice ( off the books, in cash ) paycheck on tuesday. We worked hard yesterday, me in the kitchen and the other Chef outside rolling sushi to order. He even got me to taste the Spicy tuna roll and the Salmon skin roll. I always said I disliked raw fish sushi, but I am now a big fan!! Scoot, we must go have some good sushi when you are up in NY. I have taken some pics of the Restaurant and the club, and as soon as I download them, I will post them for all to see. Its a cool place and Great food. I went to bed at 1130pm last nite and didnt fall asleep until after 1am. The noise from the people on the street and the dance music coming from the live band underneath me kept me up for a while. Time to buy the earplugs. I want everyone to come out, great ferry ride and quaint little community town. I will buy you all a drink, and recommend the food. Rocket Fuels are the Island drink of choice. ITs a Pina Colada with Rum and Ammaretto swirled on top and I am no longer a RF virgin. Celebrated last nite with my first one. Come one Come all...cant wait to see ya!!

Tired, but good tired....
Well I am finally getting to check emails and post another blog. Been working 13-16 hours a day getting ready for opening weekend on Fire Island. The Island is bustling with workers all day long and at nite it gets as quiet as a ghost town. Until tommorow. I am told I am in for an awakening, as I have never spent a holiday or any other day here on FI. Thousands of people from what we Fire Islanders call the " Mainland" will flock to the beach, by ferry or their own boats. I am excited and a bit nervous about it. I will let you know how it goes, they are saying its going to be a great weekend weather wise sooooo we should do well. Wish me luck!
Tommorow morning I will take yet another walk down to the beach. I have been doing this everyday since moving in here. Its amazing. Truly makes me think about the wonders of the world. Its a 3 block walk ( thats city blocks ).
I will take some pictures tommorow and post a few, if I dont forget my camera yet again. LOL
I miss everyone, making new friends, and meeting alot of different people. Met someone I actually knew, a kid who interned with me at the catering hall. He too will be living and working here for the summer. The town is quaint and a very tight knit community. Everyone knows everyone. Should be fun!!
Thats it for now, I need to get some rest and we still have a couple hours of paperwork to finish up. Until next time, Love ya all. Come visit. I will buy you a beer!! Food you have to pay for.

Another blog?
I have decided that this family needs another UNCENSORED blog. Banding up with the rest of my siblings and cousins will hopefully help the fight against Censorship in the Lessard family, and possibly help rid the world of it for good!!
I have given the name of Michele's Mumblings to my blog, I thought it creative and probably true to form. I will promise to try not to ramble on with pointless stories and will welcome any and ALL comments. Hope I can live up to the standards of the rest of the familys blogs. Or most of them anyway.
I arrived home from Dallas yesterday afternoon ( great weekend with Scoot and Cassie ) and drove directly to the ferry. Arrived at my new home and settled in. Caught up on all my emails ( 118 total ), had Chef Bobby cook me up some crabcakes and relaxed for a bit.
I believe that this summer will prove to be quite interesting and educational. I have stocked up on books, thanks Marc for the additions, and made my room as comfortable as I can. Being 2 blocks from the ocean and my bedroom overlooking the bay, I am truly in beachbum heaven. Cant think of a better place to work and live for the summer.
Marc and I flew to Dallas to spend the weekend with Scoot and the texas family. We had a fabulous time. Rodeo, BBQ, the infamous Daddy's Crepes for breakfast prepared by myself, shopping and Pappasito's. Marc devoured and enjoyed every bite and sip he put in his mouth. We all did. I am sure Scoot will fill in all the details on his post too.
May take me a few blogs to get it down and create a nice format so please bear with me!!
